We have an SBS 2003 Premium network and are thinking of buying a NAS unit to offload one of our departments data. I would be very grateful to hear of anyone's experience and recommendations for manufacturers, reliability, horror stories etc...
Up until this year my only experience had been with Snap appliances. Can only say good things about them...but they were never really cheap.
Then recently, one of my clients had me install and configure a Netgear ReadyNAS (http://www.netgear.com/Products/Storage/ReadyNASNVPlus.aspx).
Gigabit Ethernet, RAID, expandable, piece of cake to install, fairly Spartan UI. No problems so far. On one server I am using NTBackup with a full on Sundays and 5 daily incrementals, and on the SBS I use SBS Backup and keep a few generations with the 30 day Exchange email setting. Comes with 5 seats of Retrospect but I haven't had a chance to look at that yet.
I would buy another one if I had the choice even based on my limited experience so far.
