Re: DHCP Stopped Handling Out IP Addresses

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

After you create a custom rule, everything is fine until the leases expire ;-). So it's not always apparent what caused the problem, as it was caused in the past.

I was trying to remember what we did just before we found that DHCP was not
handing out IP Addresses. This may not be 100% accurate.

We were running SBS 2003 Premium, but we were not using ISA. Then we
upgraded to SBS 2003 R2 Premium. We installed and configured ISA 2004.
Everything seemed to have been working for awhile after that. Then one day
we came in and no one could connect to the server. None of the client
computers were getting IP Addresses.

We assigned static IP just to get past the problem.

I think DHCP was correctly configured at one time.

I am looking to get DHCP to work again.

I reconciled all scopes and they were consistent. Is there anything else I
should check?

Thanks for your help, Ed Podowski

Do you need to setup DHCP, was it not setup correctly the first time?

....or are you just wanting an easy method to swtich the clients to using
dhcp instead of static?
