I have a SBS 2003 server & I would like to give access to files to external users who are clients not SBS users.
Each client would have there own store folder and needs to be secure
Would seperate FTP server be the best or is there something im missing?
Not only best but essential. Users of the SBS FTP server need to have SBS accounts and CALs.
And you don't use FTP if it needs to be secure, as that encrypts neither user credentials nor data. Filezilla is generally recommended here.
The machine should also not be part of your LAN, but in a firewall DMZ or at least between the router and a 2-NIC SBS. Any method of uploading files to your network should be treated with great caution.
