I've gone to that section and attempted to add the user@xxxxxxxxx forwarding
address, but it won't let me.
I open Exchange General, Delivery Options, and then try various routes at
setting up the forwarding address. The problem seems to be that it looks
for user@xxxxxxxxx as a user and doesn't find it and so won't let me enter
that.
Error message:
Select Recipient:
An object (user or other object) with the following name cannot be found:
user@xxxxxxxxx". Check the selected object types...name correctly...or
remove this object from the selection.
I'm a bit stuck, what do you guys suggest? This looks like the right place
to make this change, but it's not letting me. What am I not doing?
Thanks.

Go to the User's properties in AD. On the Exchange general tab select
"Delivery Options" and there you will see where you input a forwarding
address.

Great, that's exactly what i want to do, where do I do that? I'm
guessing I could do it in user account somewhere, look for email options,
and check for a forwarding?
I'm a bit stuck and not sure where to do this, i dont want to miss a
wizard, or set something that should have been set elsewhere. Where is
the best place to do this and how?
Thanks again.

First let me axplain why he cannot see internal mail on his yahoo
account. These are two different email addresses. I'm "assuming" when
you say
"after setting him up on the SBS2003 server, any emails sent using his
Outlook user email (on SBS Exchange) are not getting forwarded to the
Yahoo email address"
you set him up with an account and email address such as
user@xxxxxxxxxx? If that is the case then how is exchange supposed to
know about his yahoo address? You can set up his exchange to forward all
emails addressed to user@xxxxxxxxxx to user@xxxxxxxxxx

Yes, the others will be added as I get any issues resolved. But his is
the main email address, he is the main point of contact in the
business.

Dear All,
My client has his email and website hosted. Any emails he recieves
are forwarded to his yahoo email account. He uses the yahoo webmail
account all day long. The problem I have is that after setting him
up on the SBS2003 server, any emails sent using his Outlook user
email (on SBS Exchange) are not getting forwarded to the Yahoo email
address. So, if he checks his email on yahoo he cannot see any sent
internal email, only emails that are sent externally.
I am guessing that Exchange is seeing the email is addressed to it's
email domain and then thinking "I don't need to send this anywhere,
it's already arrived to me, I will just put it into the user's email
box." How do I "fix" this so that a copy is forwarded onto his Yahoo
email address too?
Other info:
Currently I do not have a MX record setup at the hosting company, is
this related?
Other question, related:
I understand that I can setup an MX record like the two the hosting
company currently use, except use a lower number for the priority so
that this SBS Exchange server tries to collect the email first. Will
this still mean that the hosting company will forward his email to
his yahoo account, or will I need to forward any emails to the yahoo
account?
I'm new to a lot of this, but keen to learn it.
By the way, this group has been an excellent source of info, in fact
it's the best source I've used.
Regards.
.
