Re: Remote access to server folder shares

Yes, Cris, the internal IP range changed when I moved it. Before I had the IP
range 192.168.12.3 - 192.168.12.150

Now, when doing the moving, I changed the internal IP range to 192.168.14.3
- 192.168.14.254.

Just before I got the notification about your post, I actually got connected
to the server and could browse the contents of the folders. However, to do a
synchronisation of the offline folders that I have in my Vista BUsiness
notebook was impossible. Neither could I do basic browsing from my Vista
Ultimate x64-computer that is also hooked to the same LAN and is having a
separate VPN PPTP tunnel to the server.

What do you suggest I do?

I have a question regarding our SBS that is situated on a server hotel in
Sweden, not far from us. Before moving the server to this server hotel, it
was situated at our regular office but is now moved. The connection line for
the server is as follows:

Internet -> Transparent Firewall -> SBS

Before we moved it, the setup was like this instead:

Internet -> Router with NAT -> SBS

The SBS has been reconfigured and is now configured with dual NICs. Internet
is working just fine as well as Exchange features along with DirectPush for
our PDAs. The only problem that we do experience is that we are having
problem accessing the shares that are shared on the SBS. From time to time
there is access, so the problem is not consequent either. I have a theory
that there is a limit in the transparent firewall as to the number of PPTP
VPN connections that can be established within a certain time interval.

I have run both the "CEICW" as well as the "Configure remote access" wizard
and everything seems to be fine. I also want to configure an internal DHCP
server within the SBS that is to manage the IP leases for the incoming VPN
connections. Is there anyone having any ideas about this issue?

Thanks in advance for good help
.
