I was adding service packs via nlite, the R2 didn't work without F6, and would have a blue screen error.

HP branded media worked a treat (R2) , just means the license key for the open license is no longer in use.

My guess it that the driver you are adding is the culprit. If what I suspect is true, the newer DVD has a built-in driver that is working, so although you are hitting f6 and adding *a* driver, it doesn't mean that is the driver it is using.

As I test, I'd see what happens if you *don't* hit F6 with the newer disk. If the install still goes forward then you might want to try a different version of the driver.

With that said, I know you said you are making an nlite disk, but I'm still curious *why* you would create one with an older SBS disk instead of the newer R2 disk...unless you are making it for a different server or customer, in which case the missing driver would be a non-issue.

With both CD's I used the same F6 routine to add the necessary driver. One disk works the other does not. The disk is not damaged /scratched.

The old disc does not include the drivers of your disk controller.

Hi I have a ML350 that I can't get a open license version of SBS 2003 to
install on, I tried a SBS 2003 R2 DVD and it was fine.

After doing the press F6 and installing the RAID drivers it wont see any Hdd
space. the same process with R2 works fine.

Why ?

Currently I am making a nlite disk with SBS SP1 slipstreamed onto it, but
other than hope I don't know why one admittedly rather old disk doesn't
work, when the new one does.

Thanks
Aart.
