No Leythos, the networks were not misconfigured.
I will put my tongue firmly in my cheek. The reason you don't see infections
is because you are scanning with the same product as is installed. :-)

with viruses three times - in each case, they were running a Symantec
product.
What exact product and how was it installed - I'm assuming that the
users were able to disable it instead of being admin blocked. Was it
updated to the current defintions or was it at the default of 1 time a
week and then only of the system is on....
