Actually it started after I had to do a fresh install. The customer needed it
right then so I left out exchange and the fax. Loaded the drivers for the
chipset, NIC's, video and a usb sentinal device. Ran the wizards and plugged
everything in. Made the computer and user accounts. Set up the FTP service in
IIS for several scanners and printers they use in their business and restored
the one good backup of some applications they run on it. At this point it was
still totally unpatched with no service packs installed. No antivirus
installed yet. I let them all log in and start ringing up customers. Set up
an appointment for that evening to install the patches and service packs.
Before I left I tried to remote into it from a local client and got that
dreaded message. Patched up through service pack 2 now with all the SBS
service packs in(except the exchange as it isnt installed) and still the
dreaded message.

When did the problem start (I assumed everything worked at one time)? Any
updates to server or antivirus/firewall?

Yes I have ran the CEICW multiple times with the firewall enabled and
added
the services . I have even tried running the CEICW and disabling the
firewall.
Same result.

Not much help from a Google search of your error. Have you tried
re-running
CEICW (enabling the firewall, selecting the services and then finishing
CEICW)?

Using the RDC from the local console in SBS 2003 Standard to connect to
the
"localhost" returns -"The Remote Computer has Ended the Connection"
Using the RDC from a XP client in the Internal network (LAN) gives the
same
error message. -"The Remote Computer has Ended the Connection"
Using the RDC from any machine on the External network (WAN) gives the
same
message. -"The Remote Computer has Ended the Connection"
without ever reaching a login screen
The security event log shows a successful connection to the SBS server
and
a
logoff event with every connection attempt but it does NOT show the
user
name
or computer name that tried to connect.
The TS service is running, remote connections are enabled, the
administrator
is in the rdc group, TS is listening on 3389, the related deny access
in
group policy is empty and the allow access has the correct accounts.
Any suggestions as to where to go from here?
.
