Re: Windows Mail on Vista asks for POP3 server name and outgoing SMTP server?

Windows Mail is a Windows Component
So you can go to Control Panel, Programs and then Windows Components (should be something like that...don't have a Vista machine to look at)

And you could remove Windows Mail

In OE under tools > General tab
There is a section that say OE is or is not the default mail handler

I'm sure Windows Mail has something similar...

I had done that, but only used the printer portion. Then Ann wanted to
scan, so I went to their website and found a Vista package, which I
installed. The gui gives the option of scanning to email. Alas, it is
Windows Mail that answers the call, not Outlook. Just got an email
from their "Brother Ask Us by email" support and they assert that they
know nothing, have seen nothing, and will only say to call the 877
support line and please don't mention that you ever communicated with
us. Signs of a great company for a business partner, no?
