Hmmmm....... Your last post came in as I was writing this, so some of this
is redundant.
BUT: The users and computers are not part of the SBS domain unless you
disjoined them from the old domain and ran the /connectcomputer sequence.
In SBS, unlike the Wizard of OZ, you have to pay attention to the Wizard.
They really do make things happen in SBS land.
I am not clear on what happened in what order.
Are you saying that everyone played nice until you ran the CEICW?
Everyone was shaking hands and speaking to each other via internal email?
Users and computers created using the Wizards, and joined per Merv's post?
First, check the event logs for errors and fix those. If that is not it:
DHCP server not running
NIC on SBS bad/asleep/disabled
One (or more) of the issues to do with SP2
Third party firewalls, or even Windows firewall, or a GPO from the previous
server that blocked any different IP range.
Of course you did not say if the old server and the new SBS are in the same
IP range or not.
If two nics in the SBS, is the correct one plugged into the LAN switch?
Loose/bad Cable from the SBS to the switch?
Switch malfunctioning? Bad Port?
If you connect a DHCP enabled notebook computer to the LAN, one that has
never been part of the old network, does it get an address?
If you assign a static IP in the same range as the server does it see/ping
the server?
Download and run the SBS Best Practices Analyzer and fix any issues it
finds.

Hi Paul,
Was the other server a domain controller or a standalone server?
Did you join the workstations to the new domain (the SBS domain) using
ConnectComputer?

Hi,
I have just completed my install of SBS 2003 R2 onto my new server. The
entire setup was done offline on a seperate network to the one in my
office.
All has been working really well and all users and email, settings etc
were
configured and working perfectly.
At this point I had not set up the final email and internet connection.
When I moved the server to the online network (and removed the previous
server which is to be reconfigured for a different role on the network)
and
completed the wizard for internet and email connectivity, the server went
stopped servicing clients. DHCP won't assign IP addresses. In fact the
server
is totally unreachable on the network. (tried pinging the server from a
client workstation - destination host unreachable)
How can I go about fixing this issue? I have looked on the net, checked
all
settings, but cant get the server to talk to the clients. The server is
connecting to the internet through the network router just fine.
Thanks,
Paul
