Re: WSUS 3.0 SP1 and the Monitoring/Reporting.

Les - I tried the ASP Net take back to version 1 solution before I saw your post and it worked for me on one server.

I've had significant trouble with this over the past week, with monitoring not displaying on 5 servers after the WSUS V3 SP1 upgrade.

I tried various things, but the only thing that works consistently is to uninstall WSUS v3 (everything), uninstall SBS R2 components, clean up the folder locations, and then reverse the process. Don't run the WSUS v3 wizard at the end.

If the above process fails, then do a server restart after the uninstallation of SBS R2 prior to reinstalling. No server restarts are asked for, but I had one server where the restart resulted in success where there was no success before.

It sounds like a lot of work, but the uninstall/reinstall process goes fairly quick and can be completed in less than an hour, including the download of WSUS v3 SP1.

Hello,
I installed WSUS 3.0 SP1 on our SBS R2 this morning.
The SBS R2 had all the R2 components installed and WSUS 2.0 had been working
for the last 18 months or so!
In Server Management, after the upgrade the "Updates Services" section
presented an error message for about 30 minutes after the upgrade. It then
began to work as you would expect it to - just much slower than it used to.
However, I cannot get the "Monitoring and Reporting" section of "Server
Management" to work. It displays the error message below:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
An error occurred on the page you are trying to view.
To work around this problem, perform the following steps. After each step,
try again to access the page.
Ensure that the MSSQL$SBSMONITORING service is started.
Ensure that the server is not low on memory or disk space.
Restart the server.
Verify that the server is functional and that there are no system-wide
problems.
Run the Set Up Monitoring Reports and Alerts task in the Server Management
Monitoring and Reporting taskpad.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In addition, the following is recorded in the application event log:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Server Status Report:
URL: http://localhost/monitoring/perf.aspx?reportMode=0
Error Message: The specified item could not be found in the database.

I am struggling to find any answers on the above. Does anyone have any
suggestions?

Thanks in advance for your help.
