Hello Christopher,
Thank you for posting here. Let's also thank Joe and Frank for the input.
According to your description, I understand that you want use the local
shared printer when you access Terminal Server. If I have misunderstood the
problem, please don't hesitate to let me know.
Based on my research, Joe is right, we need to install the driver of the
local printer on the Terminal Server. After we install the local shared
printer driver on the TS, we can do printer redirection of the RDP, and the
TS will find our local printer and print on it.
If you get any difficult to install the driver of the printer, I suggest
you connect the printer vendor for help.
Please also apply the following hotfix on TS:
How to redirect the default printer of a Terminal Services client to a
Windows Server 2003 Terminal Server session

If you still have any concern on this issue, please help me collect some
information for further investigation:
1. Do you run SBS? What's version of the SBS?
2. Where is the TS?
3. Gather MPS network report on SBS and TS:
a. Download MPSrepot_network from
http://download.microsoft.com/download/b/b/1/bb139fcb-4aac-4fe5-a579-30b0bd9
15706/MPSRPT_NETWORK.EXE
b. Run MPSRPT_NETWORK.exe.
c. The tool will automatically collect the information. This procedure will
take 10~15 minutes.
d. Open Windows Explorer, navigate to the folder:
%SystemRoot%\MPSReports\Network\Reports\Cab\
e. Send the .cab file directly to me at v-terliu@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
I hope that will give you some help.
Thanks and have a nice day!
Best regards,
Terence Liu(MSFT)
