SBS 2003 installation

Hi I have a ML350 that I can't get a open license version of SBS 2003 to
install on, I tried a SBS 2003 R2 DVD and it was fine.
After doing the press F6 and installing the RAID drivers it wont see any Hdd
space. the same process with R2 works fine.
Why ?
Currently I am making a nlite disk with SBS SP1 slipstreamed onto it, but
other than hope I don't know why one admittedly rather old disk doesn't
work, when the new one does.
