RE: Outlook2K3 disappearing emails

Doesn't junk filtering happen at the client level? Wouldn't the forwarding on
the server (assuming you do it there) would be prior to the client filtering?

Yes. But I had a client that was using the junk mail folder to hold email
that they wanted and when I deleted it all they were pissed. Ummm, do they
store food in the trash can? Some users...

it appears that on a laptop she rarely uses, her outlook had junk mail
filtering turned on high and to permanently delete the email. WTF? who does
that?

i just am trying now to understand why if outlook was deleting the email
that the email never was removed from her blackberry. I had her reconcile her
BB many times and the email was always on the phone.

I have a user who's outlook arbitrarily "eats" emails. I say "eats" because
it just disappears, doesn't go into the deleted items or any other
folder....just *poof* and its gone.

Setup:
Exchange 2k3 (SBS2K3 SP2)
Outlook 2003 using RPC over HTTPS
blackberry enterprise server
AVG antivirus

User gets the email on her blackberry, so she sits down and opens outlook.
She sees the email and clicks on it. As soon as she clicks on it and it
starts to appear in her preview pane, it just disappears. The email remains
on her blackberry which is unusual.

I can restore the email from our message archiving system, sometimes it
shows back up in outlook to just disappear as soon as she clicks on the email
and sometimes it never makes it to the inbox.

i have searched her folders to no avail. its never the same type of message,
sometimes it has attachments, sometimes its just a "hello, how are you" type
message. totally arbitrary.

She is not deleting from her blackberry
She doesn't have client-side spam filtering
I can login to OWA, restore the email, click check for new messages, i see
the message, then i click on check for new messages and it disappears.
I have created a new outlook profile
I have checked for any add-ins in outlook that might be doing this.
I have checked for any rules

I am just at the end of my rope...and the weird thing is that the email
always stays on her blackberry.

Please, anyone...I don't know what else to do besides deleting and
recreating her exchange mailbox.
