I created ISO images with power ISO, a tool that can create ISO and also
mount these ISOs in windows explorer.
I installed Windows server 2003 and when the setup wanted to continue after
initial install, i stopped it. I then copied the ISOs I created to one of
the drives/volumes on the server (a susb drive i possible). Installed power
ISO on the server, mounted CD1 and continued the setup. When the setup asks
for media i just point out another drive letter instead of the one that the
setup is looking for the media In.
Are your complete HW on HCL? Some stinks In suburbia if you get this error
and you should probably look into It some more before puttig that server in
production. Otherwise It will surely come back to bite you in the a**.
What server are you trying to install SBS on? HP, Dell, IBM or even a WS?

Can you explain this to me ? Did you mount CD's with what tool ?
Anyhow thanks for your reply!

I replied In your earlier post that It can be HW related.
Check that all HW Is on MS HCL and approved for installing SBS on.
I switched my CD/DVD to another modell and that helped me when I had the
same error.
I have seen a case like yours in here before, 6-12 months ago were the
solution were something else.
But for me It helped by switching CD/DVD.
I have since then started to copy ISO images of my media to the SBS after
the initial installation with CD1.

Hello,
I've tried 5 times (also performing Quick Format of HD) installing SBS
2003
R2 Standard.
Installation went good until installing Server Tools. Always appears a
red
cross indicating Server Tools didn't install. Cannot use Server
Management
console ..
I've rerun setup several times removing, maintanance and reinstall but
always same error.
Can anyone give me some suggestions what did I do wrong ?
Thanks in advance,
Emmanuel De Smet
