black screen

Hi

We have a windows 2003 server which is three years old and
worked fine for. We have SP2 on but not SP3 as when we
installed SP3 the Vista machines couldn't connect to the sbs network

Anyway, about 6 months ago the front screen (boot up and login)
went black. The only colours visible are the Microsoft SBS logo.

When you press control alt del a black login screen appears. By clicking around
you can find the login name box, and tab to the passwords and tab to enter.
If you get the wrong login details the error message box is black except for the
exclamation triangle which is in colour.

Once you have logged in the screen is absolutely normal.
This happens when you use the monitor attached to the server or remote desk top.

To be honest it is a pain.

I wondered if anyone had any ideas as i have none

thanks

jc
