Network Setup suggestions
Hi,
I need to work out what would be easier to setup and maintain. I need to
setup a single server(if possible) network with 5-10 pc's, and one maybe two
laptops via wireless.
This is the current hardware diagram:
Internet -> NetComm ADSL Modem/Router with Wireless AP & 4 ports -> (1) 2
PC's pluged directly into ADSL / (2) 1 Laptop connected wirelessly into AP /
(3) Netgear Gig Switch -> 2 PC's.
Current
======
Internet ---> ADSL Modem -----> 2 PC's
-----> 1 Laptop
-----> Netgear Gig Switch
------> Server (1x nic)
------>2 + PC's
Proposed
=======
Internet --> ADSL Modem --> 1 Laptop
--> Server (2x nic)--> Netgear
Gig Switch --> 4+PC's
I hope the above makes sense.
They would like software like exchange, proxy, sus (or its latest
equivalent), file server. I was thinking SBS 2003 or should I just use
Server 2003?
.
