Re: permission to run application on server

Rex

have installed an database application on sbs03 server which only runs if logged in as admin but not as domain user, how to setup permission to allow a user to run the software without making him admin?

This doesn't give us a lot to work with...

By "logged on as admin," do you mean logged directly onto the server or as a user from client computer on the server's domain?

Is it a custom application? Does the vendor or developer explicitly state that it requires administrative privileges?

Does the application not start at all or does it run incorrectly or hang after starting? Have you checked the event logs? Do they show any permission-related issues?

By "database application," do you mean it uses SQL Server? If so, then setting permissions on SQL Server might be your first line of attack.
