Ok, great that you solved It. :-)
A strange problem though ..
GW IP changes by itself and only solution is applying SP2

Hi
Updating NIC driver made no difference. DG would revert to previous DG.
However, installing sp2 seems to have resolved teh rpoblem. Many thanks.

yes, first check the registry and second, disable any possible unused
Nics
on the servers, a non-used Nic can mess things up regarding gateways etc.

Hi
Thanks for the reply. Firstly, I will check the NIC driver. Secondly,
it
may
be to do with the Dead gateway in the Registry. As the customer has 2
Win
2003 Servers, on seperate remote sites, doing the same thing. Namely,
the
Static Default gateway reverting to the original default gateway that
was
allocated, when the server was set up at head office. Hmmmmmmm?

Drew, I have never heard of this before. In my world a static set IP
woud
be
just that, static.
Re-post and see If someone else can ship in and help out.
I think this maybe Is reated to the Nic and Its drivers and/or adding
static
routes In TCP IP.
Have you upgraded drivers and firmware?

Hi
Apologies for late response.
Yes, the static IP Default Gateway address is changing by itself.

Do you mean that a set (not a dynamic DHCP adress) IP Is changing

Hi
Not heard back any response!!
Any ideas on how to mainiitnain the static default gateway on a
branch
memeber server, rather than it reverting to the default gateway
of
the
SBS
server, at head office?

Hi
The static default gateway, changes back to an earlier IP
address,
on
a
remote office Win Server 2003 RS2, sp1. This server is a
telephone
Server. It
connect to head office, SBS 2003 via a static VPN.
The Win 2003 server, DG changes from the remote office router IP
address
to
the head office router IP address.
Can you suggest how I can maintain the static DG IP address of
the
remote
office router?
Thanks
.
