Silly question of the day: Backup Exec on SBS

Good afternoon!
Question: will Backup Exec 9.1 ('normal' windows version) work on SBS2003
R2?
Here is the "why" to that question:
We have a new client who is finally stepping up to the server-platform
hardware (running four servers on workstation-class machines running Windows
Server 2003) and are going to purchase a Dell PE1900 for them running
SBS2003 R2.
They have Backup Exec 9.1 (I know....I know). The guy who is kinda in
charge of this account wants to keep them on this version because he just
spent 20 hours getting it to work on their current set up (don't ask). I am
suggesting that they go to the current version (Backup Exec 12D) or that
they use the SBS Backup.
Thanks,
Cary
.
