Re: Exchange locks up after opening

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

**EDIT** I just realized my Subject line may be misleading. I should have
said that OUTLOOK locks up after opening

-sorry!-

Hi All,

I'm running SBS 2003 R2 single NIC config. The server has been promoted to
a DC and exchange is setup with a catch-all account.

In my earlier posts, I've mentioned that I'm getting ready to join our
client workstations to the domain. I decided to join my own workstation as
a test using IE http://<servername>/connectcomputer

Joining my workstation to domain went fine, Outlook 2007 profile migration
went fine. However, when opening outlook 2007 to check email, it locks up.
It shows new messages coming in, but will not preview the message nor can
I close outlook without forcing it to close through the task manager. I
suspect a networking problem because logging into my workstation takes
longer then it should as well.

Here is my workstation NIC setup:
STATIC setup
subnet is 255.255.255.0
gatway: points to hardware firewall (firewall is handing out DHCP)
dns: points to SBS server (no secondary)

Here is my SBS server NIC setup:
STATIC
DHCP is not setup
subnet is 255.255.255.0
gateway points to hardware firewall
dns: points to public DNS for our T1 connection
wins point to the SBS server IP address

Where am I going wrong here? I thought the servers DNS is supposed to
point to itself? I check the server DNS properties/forwarders tab and it
has our DSL public DNS?? (our firewall handles a T1 and a DSL connection)

Thanks so much in advance for everyone's help!
-mike
