Henrik,
I rechecked the AVG user interface, and I can't seem to turn off the AntiSpyware and root kit parts of the application.
In the Advanced tools I can turn of the "Resident Shield" and the "Web Shield" but when I exit and then log back in a few minutes later it still says it can't load my profile?
Maybe AVG is not the problem, it's just some sort of corruption in the profile?
I checked the properties of the NTUser.dat and NTUSer.bak files that are in C:\documents and Settings\Administrator and they are both full control to "Administrator", "Administrators" and "System" users and groups.
I am stumped?

To exclude things, start with temporarily stoping the antivirus and see If that makes any changes to your situation.
If Its your antivirus you may need to exclude folder from virusscanning. Have you excluded any folders at all?

I posted this question a few days ago and no-one seems to have picked up on it so I thought I would try again as this is really bugging me now:
All of a sudden I am getting Userenv errors relating to the Administrator
account.
Because my server is in my garage which involves a trip outside and
unlocking the garage I tend to always access it from Remote Desktop
Connection.
This has worked fine for the last 12 months and all of a sudden I am getting
a warning when I log in I get this:
"Windows was unable to load the registry. This is often caused by
insufficient memory or insufficient security rights. DETAIL - The process
cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. for
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\ntuser.dat "
I OK that and get:
"Windows cannot find the local profile and is logging you on with a
temporary profile. Changes you make to this profile will be lost when you
log off"
Which is correct as when I log in again later I get the same sequence?
The only thing I have done recently is added AVG File Server internet
security software to protect me against Viruses and spyware.
Has anyone seen this problem and know what might be causing it?
Siv
