Re: Blackberry and SBS setup

Your boss wants blackberry working... impress him by getting it working then
play around with BES ( for one user I wouldn't bother)

You have already been given one option and another is create a contact in
Exchange with his blackberry email. His user account in Exchange get this
forwarding to the contact email address.

In his blackberry settings (handheld or web account) set up reply from
blackberry to be office email.

Ok, I have BES installed on VMWare, I was screwing around and I ended up
deleting the user and now I can't add any user. The software tells me 1
license is used, but I've deleted the user, how can I claim that free user
back?

Thanks.

One more thing, may be depending on provider. In the process of pointing
the
blackbery service in your boss' account to your server, make sure it is
in
the form; https://mail.yourdomain.com . Different providers may require
different formats.

Thanx.

Thank you, I'll give it a try. Would it be okay to run the BES setup on
a
VMWare?

RIM supplies a 15-user limit BES for free and it comes with one
license.
It installs fine on an SBS 2003 server and I have done two installs so
far.

Okay, looks like the BB Desktop software will only synchorize when
connected via USB/Bluetooth. So instant email will still need to be
forwarded. Wasn't there some kind of BB personal BES server for demo
or
for single user? I might be able to give that a try?

Thanks again.

Hi,

My boss got a Blackberry while everyone else has WMP5, gotta be
different! Anyway, if my boss leaves his desktop on all the time
with
Outlook opens, does it mean with the BB desktop software, it can
synchorize the Blackberry over the data network just like if I had
installed BSE server?

I can do forwarding but I'm sure he won't like that.

I don't have any exposures with BB so I'm not sure exactly how to
set it
up properly. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
