Hallo

We have a Small Business Server 2003 and use the Exchange part.

One of our employees is on an other location and have a POP3 mail
account on another domain (name@xxxxxxxxxxx). On our exchangeserver
he has a mail account (name@xxxxxxxxxxx) and we have created a
contact with his external mail-account. All mail to name@xxxxxxxxxxx
is forwarded to name@xxxxxxxxxxx and is works onless the sender
sends from a Gmail account. The sender gets a mail from
postmaster@xxxxxxxxxxx saying that the mail couldn't be delivered
because:
Sender address rejected: Invalid Sender Domain

Is there somewhere on our exchangeserver, this is typed in? or what
is the reason for this message?

Regards
Jens

Can Gmail senders successfully send any mail to your server at all?

Yes no problem

...and can Gmail senders send mail to name@xxxxxxxxxxx successfully?

Yes, and all mail are successfully forwarded to name@xxxxxxxxxxx if the
sender is not a Gmail address

....and can you set up a forward to another external address on another
domain and test?

As a test I have forwarded another internal e-mail adress to an external and
there is no problem unless the sender sends from a Gmail adress.

I have created a new Gmail address and tried to send mails from that and the
result is the same. When it is forwarded I get the error message.

I have tried to send from my Gmail address to name-2@xxxxxxxxxxx and there
is no problem. Only when it is forwarded from our exchangeserver.
