Motorola Q ActiveSync problems

I have an Exchange server which I have two Motorola Q's I am trying to
sync with. I have the activesync virtual directory created and added
my self assigned cert to the phone. When I try and sync it locates
the server looks for changes and then I receive this error
0x85030022. Says the server I am trying to sync with is not an
exchange server or is running incompatible software. I have been
working on this for hours any advice or insight would be greatly
appreciated.
