To get more detailed you can run Server 2003 on a $65 hard drive
installed on a workstation. Cheap hard drive means you don't really
sacrifice an existing XP workstation. Just swap out the XP hard drive
and when you are done reinstall the XP hard drive Or you can install
Microsoft Virtual Server on a workstation and run Server 2003 in that.
I do migrations often enough from my XP laptop running Virtual Server
and Server 2003 inside of that.

Hey Kevin,See what SBS support is working on
Sounds like you are going to migrade a DC, and my answer will be the same:
Use a temp DC. There might be other methods where you do not need to use a
temp DC, but I wont consider them as a safe method.

For some reason my post didn't went through but here is my question:
Hi,
I know alot people have ask this question about migration to new hardware
and what the best method is? I heard most of the answer is Swing Method
but it required you to have 3 servers isn't it? Correct me if i'm wrong. We
currently only have 1 server and planning to buy a new one. So can we still
use swing without a tempDC ?
