Hi:
Things to check:
The event logs... verify that there are no errors in the logs that
correspond to any symptoms surrounding your issue.
Post back here, or go to www.eventid.net with the event id and source for
any that are suspicious.
Download the file you need from another computer... say home or your
notebook off your LAN. Bring the file to your server and try it.
chkdsk all drives with *no* /f nor /r, to see if it finds anything.
Depending on what it finds, your next step could be to backup and verify and
test restore, then chkdsk c: /f /r
For your own peace of mind, search engine some variant of this: "server 2003
chkdsk" and read a few of the articles.
or, your next step could be to replace the drives.
Not likely, but possible that your real-time AV or anti malware software is
getting in the way. You could stop those for the duration.
There is probably more, others will / may suggest things I have left out.

I have a small business server 2003 sp1. I am unable to install software
onto
the unit, i.e. veritas servicepacks as well as windows sp2. Each time I
try
to install the server tells me that the file is corrupt.
Any help would be appreciated.
