I have and SBS network using a separate hardware firewall for internet
access, but cannot see any means of blocking the connection in there.
This actually happens in Google, Yahoo, altavista but NOT msn or ask,
I haven't tried any others. Using firefox I just get a blank screen
without any error.
Does anyone have any ideas?

No idea - have you tried this from *multiple* computers on your network to
see if you can reproduce the results?
