<cringe> Ouch. Why are you using public IP addresses on your LAN?
This is Very Bad and I'm not surprised if you have a slew of
problems. Get a decent router/firewall appliance that also does NAT,
and stick it between your modem & your LAN. I would disconnect from
the Internet entirely until this can be done.
If you had two NICs (not my usual preference) it would be better at
least - but you're running with scissors here.
My bad - I didn't see that you have two NICs (you didn't separate the lines
much & I was preoccupied with the public IP thing). But the rest of my post
stands.
