Hi all,
I need to demote the Blackberry server who is also a BDC and recently
I also installed CA on the Domain Controller and now PDC recognize
this BDC as the SECOND CA (am I right as there is 2 certificates
found on PDC).
The *second* Certificate *Authority*?

The BDC is at its last leg today and I am going to see if I can get
the budget to upgrade this server rather than keep rebooting this
machine to work. I have add hours of work to this server and still
its not happy. At first I though it is not recognizing the
keyboard/mouse and VGA and so I reboot. Yesterday the 2nd mirrored
hdd was offline and so I resetted the drive and it seems fine. Today
I was checking the backup server but it did not backup this BDC
because its not seeing it online for some odd reasons. This PE2550 is
not really that old (only 6 years) so I wonder why its acting up. Hmmm...
I wonder if it has to do what the recently changes I made to
SBS server but I doubt it.
Anyways rather than fighting it I think I am going to decommision it
before it really craps out on me.
Now, here are my steps and PLEASE LET ME KNOW what I am missing
because I really don't like surprises:
1. Backup BDC
2. Run pcpromo.exe on it to bring it down as member server
3. Bring it back down as a stand-alone server and shut it down
4. Do I need to do anything with CA which is on PDC to let it knows
that there is no more BDC?
Thank you,
Helen
