Router is set up to passthrough, SBS server should be endpoint.

We have dual nic + router configuration. The internal nic is on a

I need to be able to connect to provide user assistance, not so much for
software installs. Whilst LogMeIn would work it would not be ideal.
As per Claus's suggestion I checked the subnet on VPN machines and they

administration, you usually need to take control of a computer and

admin account with local administrator permissions on that remote
machine.
Then set up a time when the remote can give you access to the machine,

in and do the software installations. You could then establish a VPN
back
to the SBS server for software installations/updates.

The assumption here is that the remote machines are XP Pro or Vista
Business/Ultimate. I'm also assuming that the remote machines have
broadband Internet access. In addition, I assume that you don't need
to
update the actual user profile on the remote machine with your
installations/updates, where you would need to log in under their
account
credentials on the remote machine.

We have set up VPN access on our SBS 2003 box for our remote users
which
works fine. The problem I have is that, when they are connected I
cannot
ping
them or connect to them for admin purposes. (Install software etc)
Their
VPN
connection shows up in DCHP with RAS under the Unique ID column
instead
of
the remote PC mac code and the servername in the name column instead
of
the
device name.
Can anyone tell me how to resolve this?
