I didn't read enough on-line beforehand and installed SP2 without

My first comment is - what services are you having problems with that we
might help you resolve, before you take such a drastic step? Even with only
8 users, this seems like overkill.
Check out http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555912 before you do anything.
My set-up: Dell PowerEdge 1950. C and D drives. Data and users
already on D drive. Roaming profiles. 8 users. 1 day to do the
migration. Currently using Outlook Express but, this time, I'd like
to move to Outlook & Exchange. The machine was delivered with SP1,
but I have the Dell disks including SP2 and I will be using those.
1. Backup, of course.
2. Install SBS over the top of the existing C partition. I want to
avoid "multiple installs" of W3k - is there anything special I have
to do?
3. Choose the D drive as the location for users.
4. Create the same users as previously.
5. Set appropriate user permissions at top level of each roaming
profile.
6. Set permissions on each user's ntuser.dat as per
http://www.certmag.com/articles/templates/cmag_howto.asp?articleid=819&zoneid=91.
7. Join each machine to the domain.
8. Log on each user and watch as their email migrates into Outlook.
I'm trying this tomorrow, for real on Tuesday and I would appreciate
any pointers.
Thanks in advance!
David
