Re: Ping - Jeff Middleton or Swing Migration

Hi Phil,

Great. Thanks for letting us know. About your link down, doesn't your domain
hoster offer something like a backup MX?

And as proof, I can report Jeff has got back to me..
Thanks all.

I will be crossing Jeff's palm with silver shortly, and bugging the
M&M's too no doubt. - Subscription renewed to that other great resource
smallbizserver.net

Now, all I need is an article on getting SMTP and Exchange to work,
preferably with 'something' to stop everything bouncing if link to ISP
goes down...

Thanks all,
Phil.

Hello everyone,

I'm not dead nor is the SBSmigration.com website.

Clarifying a few points. I own a domain called Swingmigration.com, but the
only reason is because sometime about 3 years ago someone incorrectly
blogged or sent out a blast email calling my website that. My Website is
SBSmigration.com, not swingmigration.com, but whatever. If you go to the
wrong URL you get redirected to the correct one.

The SBSmigration.com website is hosted and did not crash. What was offline
is my email server which is not on the server server hosted site. I had a
problem with my Exchange, took it down to run maintenence on it. I don't
think I missed any email, just sleep.

In the case of Philips email, I did miss it simply because of the amount
of
spam I get there's a low percentage possibility that I will miss something
that goes into my "junk email" folder...something that I only use when I
am
travelling with my laptop. Therefore, missing emails is really not a
common
thing for me, but it does happen. Philips email came in at 3am Friday AM
my
time and my server went down for maintenance later that day.

I don't think this needs to be a big concern, but I'm following up
directly
with Philip now.

The only reason I'm posting here is because I don't think people
necessarily
understand that sometimes on infrequent basis things just slip
through....it's email. This stuff happens.

- Jeff

Hi Phil,

Jeff just told me his mail server crashed over the weekend. Could you
please send another email to him?

website works fine here in UK, you're not in Egypt / India where the
submarine pipe has gone down...lol

I know the website works.. That's where I got the email address from.
It's the fact I have not had a reply.
Perhaps the email is stuck in the mud?

Ping Jeff..

Tried to email swingmigration.com, but 'request timed out'. - As no
reply from address on website..
Seems like all the 'noise' about this dates back to 2005??

Anyone know if it still exists?

TIA,
Philip Partridge
