Looking at a customer's server with 62 users, they have quite a few
partitions.
The OS is on 30 GB partition of it's own.
Exchange on on 75 GB partition of it's own.
SQL on a 175 GB partition (105 GB database) with the LDF file on a
separate, dedicated 25 GB partition. The LDF is currently 6 GB, but can
expand to 20 GB at peak.
IIS and all the rest of the system logs, are on another partition, and
their accounting department has 75 GB with volume shadow enabled, again
on it's own partition. Their internal system ledger (an excel
spread***) shows 565 days up-time excluding automated updates and
forced installation reboots.
