We have a small site with a single SBS2003 server running Exchange.
All workstations use the SBS Server for their DNS. They have been
reporting "Internet Outages" which I have narrowed down to being a
DNS issue. When this happens, the DNS Server stops responding to
requests (nslookup reports: DNS request timed out. timeout was 2
seconds.) even when nslook is run from the server itself. There are
no errors in the DNS Server Event Log. The Service seems to be
running and DNS Server can be managed with MMC (Zones are visible).
Restarting the service fixes the problem (as does waiting...). This
happens about 2 -4 times / Day.
Any ideas? Not sure where to go with this.
Server has all it's updates. No obvious errors in the Event Log. No
obvious problems with DNS otherwise. No local firewall or other thing
that might be blocking DNS requests. AV is up to date and running.
Thanks!
More than one NIC and Non ISA?

The server is configured with a single NIC on the LAN. Firewall is a
Cisco. ISA is not enabled/configured.
Thanks!
