Re: windows mobile 6

Hi, I have a similar situation, except that my godaddy certificate never
blinked, my newe HTC Touch with windows mobile 6 works great witrh exchange
2003 and everything synchs up and works fine.
My problem is this: I can get into SBS thru RWW and everything on my
company web is cool and I can get to everything, download everything, etc.
Except that when I go to remote eesktop connection and try to log onto a
client desktop or server it gies me an error saying that I have to lower my
windows mobile security settings to allow the active-x component to download.
This is pretty normal for a laptop, you just lower the IE settings and try
again, but there are no security settings for mobile IE I can find except the
ability to download cookies or not, that's all.
Once I am in thru RWW to my SBS network, how do I log into a client desktop?
How do i get past the need to download that active-x component? Is there a
piece of windows mobile software I need to download separately?
TIA

And I've explained it
1. Go to IE on the Server > Tools > Internet Options
2. Go to the Connections Tab
3. Click on the Certificates Button
4. Find your Godaddy Certificate
5. Click on it. Then click the export button Accept all defaults. Save it to a location that accessible from a workstation that your WM6 has WMDC connection with
6. Go to the workstation
7. Establish a connection between the device and the workstation with WMDC
8. Use Windows Explorer on the workstation and find the exported cert. R Click > Copy
9. Navigate to the root of the device and paste the .cer file.
10 On the device, using file explorer, Navigate to the root of the device. Find the .cer file, tap the file and accept the prompt to install the cert.
You're done.

Yes
Let me clarify the problem...
I installed a GoDaddy certificate on the sbs server with no problem (RWW works perfectly). The problem is that the certificate is a .crt file and my WM6 device doesnt recognise this file extention.
The question is how do i install the certificate.
When a computer uses RWW it downloads the certificate automatically from the server, why doesnt WM6 do the same?

So if you go to a workstation on the lan, go to IE > Properties > Content > Certificates > Do you find this new godaddy cert showing up there?

Have you installed the godaddy cert on your SBS server yet?

thats exactlly the problem, from the GoDaddy i got a .crt file. The windows mobile doesnt recognize this file type. Is there a way to convert it to .cer?

If you installed a Godaddy cert, you may not have to install on the phone, check your phone's built in certs...may already support
If not then you just export it through IE to the .cer format and copy to the phone

Thanks for the reply.
So i started the process but got stuck pretty quickly. I issued a
certificate from GoDaddy and installed it on the server (no problems there).
But the certificate has .crt extention and the mobile phone doesnt recognize
this extention.
What should i do?
