When you ping something the first line says something like:
Z:\>ping sbs
Pinging sbs.lc.lan [192.168.250.2] with 32 bytes of data:
The important part is the IP address. Is the public IP of the two servers
indicated?

Thanks SuperGumby,without
You are quite right, I should be getting someone to do these things and I
shall if it comes to that. Anyway, I did from SBS:
Ping mail.frandila.com
Ping mail.virgin.net
These are our 2 mails providers. Both sent 4 packets and got 4 back
loss of data. 1st one average return time = 119ms; and second one 173ms4
I did the same for both from one workstation: different results. Both sent
packets and both lost 100%. I don't know if this is significant to you.it

how similar are the DNS names of the pop server and what you expect

My first guess is that something done either by filezilla
toor
the operator to make access work is interfering with name resolution
(orthe
pop server. Ping the pop server name from a command prompt on SBS
address?even
one of the attached workstations), does it return the expected

Hello
About 3 days ago my POP3 Connector stopped downloading emails. I

was
to intall FileZilla Server. The installation was successful and
nowas
no
hint of any problems.
I have now removed this program and rebooted the SBS but there is
anyimprovement. I've read several articles here but I have not found
andspecific answer except the ones suggesting removing POP3 Connector
anyre-installing it. I thought I would ask specifically if anyone has
action.specific solution to this problem before I take such a drastic
The log gives these:
Event ID 1036 (Error 10065)
Event ID 1023
Event ID 1019
