more likely an MTU issue. Grab DrTCP and try reducing the MTU size. 1500 is
'normal', try around 1000 as a test, if it makes a difference we can look at
what is best in the scenario.

Hi.
Can someone explain what I'm missing here with accessing resources on
my corporate network remotely:
I have a netscreen firewall that allows clients (XP Pro) to set up a
VPN to my internal network. If I activate the VPN from a remote
location (through a standard broadband connection), I can ping all IP
addresses internally including my SBS 2003 domain controller. However,
it won't authenticate me so will not let me, for example, browse the
network folder shares. If I connect using the IP address it will
prompt me for a username and password, but this will only allow me to
enter a local user, not log on as a member of the domain.
These are the steps I take:
I turn on the laptop and log on to the domain with my normal account
(the details are cached so it doesn't authenticate with the domain
controller yet)
The wireless card establishes a connection the to the internet
I activate the VPN
Network computers are visible - but resources are not accessible.
I'm sure it's an authentication problem. The VPN happens at the
firewall, not the SBS machine, so what can I do to force it to
authenticate me once I log on?
Thanks for any help in advance
Bill.
