Microsoft Plugs Ten Security Holes - Security Fix:

January 2007 Holz. Last year. Vista wasn't even released.

Flaws Are Detected in Microsoft’s Vista - New York Times:

I don't remember the details on that one but it was either patched or turned out to not be the issue the headlines read.
You aren't hurting my feelings, you are not showing me facts.
Fact is Holz that bad guys are increasing moving to social engineering targets and attacking security software itself because they are finding it harder to attack the OS. Fact is I choose solutions for business reasons as well as security ones and Windows isn't getting less secure, but more so.
I purchased a MacMini, I installed Ubuntu. All have their place, but all ... let me repeat that again... ALL have security issues. And ALL have stupid end users and ALL have administrators who believe that merely choosing an operating system is all that you need to worry about to be secure. You don't. You need a combination of compliance, savvy end users, an operating system that can be secured (and all of them can be) and an administrator who is willing to be open to new ideas and see views from all sides.
My OS is not better than your OS, it's just the one I chose because it makes sense for my business. And it is secure 'and' securable.
Now then, when you are rested, bookmark www.incidents.org as that gives you more relevant and up to date security issues than year old stories done to grab headlines by researchers back when Vista first launched.
Pay close attention to Quicktime, Java and other third party programs that are way harder to patch and maintain and are causing security issues these days.
Facts Holz.
P.S. Get ready for Vista sp1 which is getting close to being ready.

May be I should have worded it this way so I do not hurt you feelings:
Although at the moment Vista appears to be more secure (and bloated) than previous Windows operating systems, it will increasingly become a target for hackers as it becomes more popular and XP is longer an option.
