Teneo,

Sorry I don't quite get it...
If customer has three locations connected to SBS via Wnk2k03 R2
Servers, they can then have distinguished e-mail addresses
NY Location : michael@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
CA Location : john@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
TX Location : mary@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I may be overlooking serious stuff here...but for now I cannot see
why this would be messy...

Given that you aren't hosting different servers in each location, I guess I
don't much see the point of it myself and I suspect it will confuse people
somewhere down the line.

However, it won't cause *problems* per se. You'll want to set up different
recipient policies - and apply them with filters. E.g., anyone with a
specific attribute in their ADUC properties, such as a department name,
would get policy A, others get policy B, etc. However, these users should
also get the settings from the built-in policy (user@xxxxxxxxxxxx) so add
all the appropriate entries in your policies.

Otherwise, it *will* get messy.

And you still may want to look into customizing your address lists by
geographical location.

Dan

I can see this getting messy, how would users see the dept /
location. Would it not be easier to edit display name so when users click
the
TO button the GAL will show the details i.e

Michael - NY Sales

You could even setup distribution groups also i.e

NY Sales

Klaus,

Say the customer has three different locations hanging on the SBS
Exchange server. This would clearly indicate their location or
department or project or anything you can think of.

Can you explain what you are trying to achieve? In general, I
don't see a problem of doing this but I can't think of any reason
why I want to do this.
