I have done it both ways (from SERVER2 join the domain via My
Computer/Properties and provide credentials) and (from SERVER1 add SERVER2
then go to connectcomputer from SERVER2) with the same result. When doing
the 2nd option of going to connectcomputer I do get a message of "this
computer has already joined the domain" so not sure what ConnectComputer
should do here for the SERVER2.
What's strange is SERVER1 (SBS 2003 box) SERVER2 looks perfect. I can even
go to SERVER2 and log in using the domain credentials. I know something is
not quite right but I'm lost as to what to turn to next.

When you joined the server into the domain, did you use "connectcomputer"
or did you do this manually?

Setup: Domain = MyDomain, SERVER (SBS 2003 R2), SERVER2 (Windows 2003
R2, SQL 2005)
SERVER2 has joined to the SBS domain (verified by looking at the AD on
SERVER).
When I log into SERVER2 using the Admin credentials of the domain
(Mydomain\administrator) no problem. When I open up IE from SERVER2 and
try to hit CompanyWeb running off of SERVER in the SBS domain I get
prompted for credentials instead of just going to the web site. I can
put in "MyDomain\Administrator" and password and it opens up Companyweb
no problem, but why am I even prompted? I logged in under a domain
account.
To add to this SERVER2 also has SQL 2005 with Reporting Services. With
using the same MyDomain\Administrator login I try and hit
http://SERVER2/Reports and again I am prompted for credentials instead of
going directly to the site. I can put in credientals and it continues.
I even log in as the local Admin and the same thing happens. I have
looked at the group memberships and I can't see a problem. Just to add
to this I can go to any XP workstation and login as
MyDomain\Administrator and no problem hitting CompanyWeb or
http://SERVER2/Reports. Finally, I even try another domain account that
has domain admin privledges and get the same results so it's something
with this machine.
Where this is causing me a problem is that I cannot install CRM
Professional on SERVER2 because it says it cannot see the SQL Report
Server and I know it's because it can't go directly to the site and
instead looking for credentials. Since I didn't have much important
stuff on SERVER2 I even re-installed the OS thinking something to hosed
but I get the same results.
I'm totally lost on where to turn for answers on this one. I've wasted
DAYS on this one.
Thanks for any help or guidance.
