Re: "Previous Versions" not available on server or XP client

You're welcome - and yes, I hadn't thought of using the UNC path, but you're
correct.

And yes, I didn't use the /connectcomputer so client wasn't
installed. It is now.

Cool beans. Since you didn't use the wizards, I suggest you go to ADUC, move
this (or all relevant) computer accounts from the built-in Computers OU,
into the MyBusiness\Computers\SBSComputers OU, and then go to the Server
Management console. Pick Computers, then pick Assign Applications to Client
Computers, pick the computers from the list, and proceed.

Thank you both of you.

The client is a fully patched copy of XP SP2. The server is running
SBS2003 R2. Volume Shaddow Copy is enabled on the drive.

The user's my documents are re-directed to the server. When I go to
the properties of a user's folder, there is no previous version tab
either on the server or on the XP client.

Even files themselves don't have a previous version tab, on the
client or on the server.

Volume Shaddow copy service is enabled and set to manual.

Any ideas?

To add to SuperGumby's reply....

Did you join the computer to the domain using /connectcomputer? If
not, you
don't have the VSS client installed. You can manually install it (but
always
use the wizards during setup or evil will befall you).

The only way to test on the server itself, is to map a drive letter
to the parent folder - you won't be able to see the Previous
Versions tab on a *local* folder. You have to fake it.
