Please clarify what you mean by system restore? That's usually associated
with client OS computers and not servers running AD where a system state
restore is necessary.

System restore.
Thats what I would try. My experience with customers is that they
didnt just click it and wait patiently for everything to work like it
should. Sometimes they get impatient and try to help it along. Or
perhaps they were hogging too many resources and crashed the install.
You will never know. But if you can revert it and do it yourself I bet
it works.
