What you are describing are 2 local networks that have individual connection
to the internet.
In order to have them talk to each other your either need something like a
branch office VPN that will tunnel the traffic or the clients in location B
need to connect individually via VPN to the SBS server at location A.
So which of those 2 solutions is set up in your case?

Yes, the remote server is a an SBS.
location A = remote server - SBS -192.168.1.10 + 4 clients + Exchange
server - not sure of the clients ip scheme - but I think it is
192.168.1.xxx - (everything works fine here)
location B= Local Network =4 clients
old way with verizon was 192.168.2.101 - linksys router(not sure how this
was set up because I had to reset it) -> Westell DSL modem. the clients
had the first DNS setting = 192.168.1.10 (this confuses me...) then two
other DNS numbers like151.???.0.83.
New way = optimum online w/boost and new bank of static ips - I can get
the web to work, but I can't get the files synced or outlook to get email.
When I log in it says it can't sync the files to the domain so it will
stay offline.
I can remote into their server via the web and connect to a client
machine, and then remote over to the server and log in as admin
I believe that the old way through DSL that there was a setting in the
linksys router that I don't understand
the goal is to set up the clients to sync files w/ the server and to work
with outlook & exchange under the new ISP - optonline
When that didn't work, I tried to set it back, but I still had the same
problem, leading me to believe that the settings that made the difference
was in the old router which I had to reset. I hope I am not confusing you
too much.

What server is remote?
Please explain the network setup in more detail, otherwise we can't help

I went to help a law office, and configured a new machine to work with
their server on a domain, with synced folders and outlook exchange.
They were on DSL and complaining about speed, so I recommended they
switch to cable/boost
So they did a few weeks later, and got a new set of static ips, then I
went to take over after the cable install.
They normally log into a domain and have synchronized files and use
outlook through exchange server.
I wrote down all the settings that were there, except for the old
router....I had to reset-because I didn't have the password.
their old static ip was 71.249.249.71
Their local ips were 192.168.2.xxx
Their gateway was 192.168.2.1
their DNS's were 192.168.1.10 (this is the ip of the remote server)
151.???.0.85 (don't remember)
I first tried old router to new router - just to make a quick
connection, I plugged in one static ip to the old router, and was able
to get on internet, but it would not sync or exchange could not check
mail.
Then I first took one computer and plugged it into the new router ->
cable modem. I can log onto the domain, but folders will not sync and
outlook won't send and receive.
Then when I tried to "go back" to the way it was, it still wouldn't
sync or get the mail. (remember - I reset the old router before I saw
the config because I didn't have the password)
What am I missing configuration wise? What is the bare minimum needed
to sync folders and load exchange email?
I plan on calling microsoft for an incident tomorrow, but I would like
to know if anyone can help me. let me know if you need more info.
