I want to reply to this thread and finalize it. After 3 weeks the problem of
slowing has not returned. My Server has run without needing to be restarted
in that period. My DSl device had to be resterted once but has not needed it
since.
I want to thank those who led me down the path to eliminating the problem.

Hmmm.....
I was about to ask the same question.... I'm not aware of any false
reporting in the BPA.

I'm not sure why you think that is an error in the BPA report? The error
refers to SBS 2003 SP1. Did you ever install that (not just Windows 2003
SP1)?

The slowing still occurs. I ran the SBS BPA. This time it had only two
errors
other than the two it errantly reports about not have installed SP1. I
corrected the two errors, restarted, ran BPA again and they went away,
except
the two about not having SP1. I wonder if Microsoft is going to fix that
oversight?

I doubt it is a virus issue. It would be helpful to post the CEICW log
file
here to see where the error is. Delete the logfile first and then rerun
the
CEICW (click on configure firewall) and post the result in here.

To answer your questions... I installed SP2 long ago when it first
became
available and at the old location. The IP is the same in the new
location,
so
are the DNS addresses from my ISP. I am running 2 NICs and have been
for
years. I ran the CEICW several times, it fails the Firewall portion.
No
ISA,
however, I installed MsSQL long ago but it is not being used.
I do notice that when I observe the Network display in the Task
Manager,
there is a continuous low bandwidth stream. I wonder if there is some
spyware
or something going on. I have Symantec Corporate on the SBS and it
discovered
a virus when I first moved to this new location, but Symantec got ride
of
it.
Could this infection have damaged something or be running some
nefarious
process?

A few questions:
Given your reference to the HotFix, did you install SP2 during the
move
or
was it installed at the old location?
With the move, did you end up with a new public IP?
Did you check with your ISP whether their DNS servers are different?
Did you run the CEICW to make the changes?
Are you running a 2NIC setup with ISA? (what version?)

I have an SBS with two NICs. It has been operating fairly well for
several
years. I just moved it to a new location. I had my ISP check
everything,
my
DSL is fine. If I connect to the DSL in the DMZ with a workstation,
I
have
full bandwidth, but the server does not. For some reason, I can not
determine, I loose bandwidth. If I restart the server or reset the
DSL
device, the bandwidth returns only to wind down again after a few
minutes.
I
ran the KB936594 Hot Fix and restarted, it made no difference. I
checked
the
Registry Workarounds suggested in the Hot Fix page, they are as
they
should
be. I checked the Exchange Queue, it is not under duress.
So what could be the problem, please help?
