Service login account password becomes corrupted

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

We have several services set to login/start using a specific domain
administrator account. The service will start fine upon reboot or
manual restart of the service. However, after a random period of time
the event log fills with an error: 7038 logon failure: unkown user or
bad password.

When we retype the same password, and nothing else is changed, the
service starts up fine.

It seems that the password or authentication process is becoming
corrupt.
