Re: SBS server on 2 different networks?

Yes, this is a standard 2 NIC setup. You run the Configure E-Mail and Internet Configuration Wizard (Server Management -> Internet and E-mail -> Connect to the Internet; Or, Server Management -> To Do List -> Connect to the Internet. Both point to the same wizard.) You tell it that the 192.168.x.x NIC is your Internet facing NIC and that the 10.x.x.x NIC is your internal LAN NIC. and it will handle the rest. You'll also need to Configure Remote Access so that the SBS server does NAT between the two networks. (Though I'm curious why you'd choose a 10. for your internal LAN - it's not like you need that many addresses for an SBS network, and it can interfere with other things later if you have to VPN into some other LAN. The "default" internal LAN range is 192.168.16.x for SBS and it's one that does a good job of not interfering with other networks. )

I have a server with 2 nic cards and I want to tie 2 different
networks to the server. I want one nic to handle for instance a
192.168.x.x. which will handle incoming email while the other nice
10.x.x.x will handle a local lan. The SBS server will not be acting
as a VPN or anything else, just for access to email but more
importantly for the users on the 10 network to access sharepoint (or
the companyweb). Is this possible? Will exchange be able to handle
email being recieved on just one network from the outside? I know as
long as the DNS is right on the 10 side the users will have an problem
accessing company web. Can I still control users on the 10 network
with the domain?
