I think what he was referring to is the GUUID of the component that was
installed.
maybe your install didnt make it that far ;)
what error do you get when you attempt to reinstall?

I have just tried to update to WSUS 3.0 and I am unable to uninstall
3.0.

followed the instructions with the update that said you must uninstall
WSUS
2.0 first but now i can neither install 3.0 or reinstall 2.0!
HELP! all suggestions gratefully recieved! - oh yes and Happy New Year!
We are running SBS 2003 R2
