Apprehensive about re-installing SBSMonitoring

Hi,
I have been running SBS2003 Premium SP1 for a couple of years in my
office. Recently, I attempted to free up more space on my C: drive by
following the "How-to" Microsoft document for detaching, moving, and
re-attaching the SBS monitoring database, but afterwards could not
restart the related SBSMonitoring services, and hence no longer have
SBSMonitoring working. Message was "the MSSQL$SBSMonitoring service
on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop
automatically if they have no work to do, for example, the Performance
Logs and Alerts service." Reading up on this error, I found it's been
suggested to re-install the Server tools component (via add/remove
programs, selecting SBS and maintenance) and run the Monitoring
Configuration Wizard again.
In the midst of doing that server tools re-install, I get to the
dialog window "Windows Configuration - You must configure the
operating system to proceed with the installation... Click Next to
continue. This will take approximately 30 minutes." At this point I
clicked the "More information" button and read the paragraphs copied
below, which made me very apprehensive to continue, and so I
cancelled. I do not want to re-install IIS, touch the AD, mess with
the licensing, -- as the warnings imply. I'd appreciate any advice or
opinions people may have regarding this. Is this what's necessary to
make the SBSMonitoring feature work again (much less move its
database)? Thank you for your help.
"Windows ConfigurationSetup must ensure the operating system is
configured for server applications and tools by:
"Changing the computer name if it was modified on the Internal Domain
Information page.
Verifying that the local network adapter is configured and that the
necessary protocols and services are installed and configured.
"Installing Internet Information Services (IIS), IIS documentation,
IIS administration tools, the Network News Transfer Protocol (NNTP)
service, ASP.NET, RPC over HTTP Proxy, and the Simple Mail Transfer
Protocol (SMTP) service. IIS is required to support Web-based
services, including the Windows SharePoint Services Web site (your
intranet), Outlook Web Access, and Remote Web Workplace.
"Installing and configuring Active Directory. As part of the domain
configuration, the domain is set to the Windows 2000 native functional
level to support server tools.
When Active Directory is installed, the Directory Services Restore
Mode password is synchronized with the built-in administrator account
password.
"Installing Microsoft Search to provide indexing and querying support
for Exchange Server 2003.
"Caution Close any applications or windows, other than Setup, before
clicking Next. When you click Next, component installation begins.
If you cancel Setup now, the server will not comply with the licensing
requirements and will automatically shut down after 7 days. "
Thanks,
Greg Brown
