If you can't log in to Windows, you can't remove it from the domain. But even if it's domain joined, you should still have a local Administrator account on the machine, created during the install. Unless you explicitely disabled it. (or unless it's Vista where the OS does it for you.)

Hello,
First I must admit I made a dumb mistake without realizing it. I build
a new client for a remote office and forgot to do one of the
following; change ip to correct one and/or remove it from the domain
to allow local login since cached logins is disabled for security
reasons. So now I am stuck with a client computer that is out of reach
for a quick rebuild and will have to be shipped back if I can not find
a work around.
My question is how do if disjoin this client from a domain if you can
not login to windows? My guess was to boot from the windows cd to do a
repair and use the netdom exe to help out. I have had trouble getting
this command to work right so I am unsure if this is the correct way
to do this. I appreciate any help you can provide on this as it will
save me both time and money.
Thanks,
Ryker
.
